Hi guys! Finally we started our second book for pleasure reading.We’ve picked this book as a group together. Personally I’ve chosen it because there is a famous film adoptation, so in the end of our reading session I will watch it and compare the film with the original text.
I’ve read only a few chapters now, but I already can say that I like this book more than the previous one. I thought it would be more difficult and boring than “About a boy”, because it was written earlier (1985 vs 1998), but it’s fascinating. The language is beautiful! Also I’ve learned something about the author. The story is based on the real event! It makes “Bridge to Terabothia” even more interesting and special.
I want to share some new words with you.
Sunup — sunrise — восход солнца
To stink — to smell very bad — вонять
Huffily — in an angry and offended way, especially when this is unreasonable — раздражённо
Conspicuous — obvious to the eye or mind, very noticeable — заметный
