Cyber bullying.

Now and then I see memes like this. Of course, they are used ironically, like “oh no, you wrote something offensive, which is actually not”. I don’t think people realize how much damage one gets being cyber-bullied for real.

Cyber-bullying is different from bullying in real life. It usually takes the form of a huge number of offensive and aggressive messages, threats, indecent or obscene comments, spreading lies and personal data on social media.

Anyone in the internet can be bullied. I usually see famous bloggers, tik-tok users, media persons suffering from bullying. Sometimes it even makes them stop posting anything. For example, Jenna Marbles stopped posting on YouTube because she got many messages about her old racist videos. She apologized and quit blogging.

Even Selena Gomez was cyber-bullied. She gained weight and was laughed at.

Now social media have many tools to prevent bullying, people can hide offensive materials, complain on the posts, and close their profiles and messages from strangers. People who behave inappropriately have their accounts blocked or even deleted because of the politics of some social media.

I don’t think we can stop bulling, in real life or online, but we can help the victims to get over it by supporting them.
